Notes:

Peta Wilson stars as Nikita in this Canadian produced and very successful television adaptation of the original film. The show had a relatively modest budget, which meant that it had to have stronger character development, more complex plot lines and creative dialogue in order to capture viewers' attention. As a result, it managed to garner a very dedicated following of fans and lasted for five years.

Notes:

An American television network CW, finally took notice of the franchise and has created a very successful, big budget extension of the original series. Though the actors are all different and there are some significant changes to the canon of the original series, it is designed to pick up where the previous series left off, with Nikita having escaped (instead of managing) the agency now known as Division (originally known as Section One). The very attractive Maggie Q. now plays the title role of Nikita.
