There are a lot of useless, but fun apps for showing off your phone, like that one that simulates you drinking a beer, or the whoopee cushion and soundboard apps. Most of all, everyone has to show off those 35 different light saber programs they've downloaded. Okay, I'm not sure if there are that many, but it sure seems like it.

Since they're the same size as what we saw on Star Trek back in the day and are as powerful as anything Gene Roddenberry had ever imagined, it only makes sense that someone would develop a very functional Tricorder app. Surprisingly, this one has a few modes and actually does more than just look and sound neat.
